Your support is very much appreciated.

The Finale of Catholic Schools Week – The finale of the week was Friday when the Varsity Soccer Team challenged the Faculty on Friday afternoon.  It was a tough game and they both came out “winners” as they tied 1-1!  Thank you to Jason Lowart and Andrew Antognoli for stepping up and playing with the faculty as they did not have enough players!

A meeting for the OM Coaches will begin immediately following questions and answers.  If you have any questions or need more information, please call Mrs. Deb Martin at 473-8607.  Both meetings will be led by Mark Lopes, OM Regional Director.  If you would like more information, please go to the OM website at www.odysseyofthemind.com.  You can see the OM problems and even a video of competition.

All parent helpers must have a Visitor Pass from the school office.

Staff Parking – Please do not park in the parking lot along the side the gym on Maroa.  This parking lot is reserved for staff members only.  Students should not be dropped off in this parking lot.

Birthday Policy – We do love to celebrate birthdays but we must try to keep the disruption to the class to a minimum.  Please check with your student’s teacher for the appropriate time to bring treats. Any other birthday favors must be brought to the office and not directly to the classroom.

Save your Savemart Receipts! Savemart is offering to schools the opportunity to earn lots of different educational supplies simply by turning in your cash register receipts.  Please save ALL YOUR SAVEMART RECEIPTS and turn them into the school office. We will be collecting them from August 6th through January 24, 2009.  Please turn them in promptly as we must send them in within a limited time frame to earn the rewards!  And don’t forget to use your SHARES card to earn tuition credit for yourself………It’s a win-win situation!

Savemart/FoodMaxx SHARES Cards – Here is an easy opportunity to save money on your tuition.  By using your SHARES card when you shop at Savemart or FoodMaxx, you will earn 2% of your eligible purchases in tuition credit.  And now Savemart has made the program even easier.  All you have to do is swipe the card.  You will not be carrying a balance or adding money to the card.  Every family should have 2 SHARES Cards in their youngest child’s name.  Please call the school office or put your student’s name on the sign up sheet in the office if you do not have your cards and start earning your tuition credit now!  Please remember that by using the SCRIP Program you can earn tuition credit for buying the things you already buy daily. We have a great variety of stores and restaurants to choose from such as Piazza del Pane, Me ‘N Ed’s, Bella Pasta, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Cold Stone, Chipotle, and many, many more.  If you are new to this program, please call the office or download a SCRIP Order Form here.

Macy’s Benefit Shopping Day – Please remember to keep Saturday, November 22nd in mind for their famous “Benefit Shopping Day”. The event is much later this year and we don’t want you to miss out on purchasing your ticket(s) from St. Anthony’s. By purchasing a $10 ticket, it allows you to pre-shop for 2 weeks prior to the event and/or shop that day and receive great discounts.  Also, you will receive $3 tuition credit just for purchasing a ticket from St. Anthony’s School.  The proceeds from these tickets goes directly to the school and by going to Macy’s on that day and depositing your ticket stub gives us an additional $3.  Tickets are now available in the school office.  Please look for more information coming soon.

All 3rd – 8th graders interested in singing will begin rehearsing after school on Thursday, September 4th from 3-4 pm in Room 22, THE NEW MUSIC ROOM!!! The students learn singing technique, note reading, musical terms, harmony, good church behavior, focus, and most of all, how to have fun singing together.  There is no audition required. The Children’s Choir sings at Friday school Masses each week and at 9:30 am Sunday Masses once a month.  We also sing at Weddings, Quinceañeras, First Communions, and sometimes at Choir Festivals.
