Fifth Grade
Both 5th grades welcome new students this year. The children are setting into the routine, making the transition from summer play to the academics of a now school year.
We are continuing to develop a deeper understanding of our faith with an emphasis on God’s creation, the sacraments, the Mass and our call to serve. We’re busy reviewing Math and Language Arts to prepare for the ITBS testing.

There are 2 areas of the curriculum that are new to 5th graders. One of these is U.S. History. We’ll be making our own maps of out country and beginning our timelines of the early explorers in the next few weeks.
The 2nds area will be the study of 5 of the 10 body systems. There will be challenging vocabulary but the use of videos, micro-slides, drawings and outlines will help them along the way.
